Look - I hear you. Should we really be starting another new project? If you haven't learned by now, I (Nerd Pastor Nate) am an unabashed visionary. I have too many ideas and concepts to even begin to focus on just one thing. In fact, that's partly why our new LVL2 program is so vitally important, I need all the follow-through help that I can get.
I felt compelled to start this new blog series because, to be frank, it just isn't being done anywhere else. In my past year of nerd ministry I have discovered dozens of passionate and driven folks doing important ministry. People that I would never have met otherwise. People who don't know each other. In order to connect this community and lift up people who are doing these interesting things, I see it as my obligation to inform our community of who is doing this wild thing called nerd ministry.
See, here's the thing: the Internet is a behemoth. And I don't see anyone doing nerd ministry as a 'competitor.' First off, because that's a gross mentality, especially for a church. Second off, because we're in this thing together. And, while we may not see eye to eye on everything, I want to lift up these folks who are paving the way forward; some I hope to have on the Nerds of Pray podcast, others I just want more people to know exists.
So, if you're curious, check out the Nerd of Mouth Issue 1 blog post and look into some of the incredible things being done in the nerd sphere currently. From Vtubers to camp ministry to so much more, I am excited to introduce you, dear reader, to the fascinating people that I get to call my peers.
