Play Together

A helpful way to start out a new year is with a single word that will define the mindset for the year ahead. The word that I am hoping will define 2021 for us here at Checkpoint Church is this: together. When we really take a step back and look at what the real purpose behind the church is, this is the greatest goal that we can hope to possibly achieve. We have been working for the past six months at building some relationships, getting our name out there, crafting a professional aesthetics... all of that fancy stuff is well under way. Now, it's time to take the next step. It's time for us to start building on those relationship and taking shape into our true form: community.

I have a good chunk of ideas for how this might be best done and I'm always willing to listen if you have any ideas. We are kicking the year off with this first bombshell: CheckPlay.

What is CheckPlay and why do I love word puns so much? I have an answer for the first question. CheckPlay is going to be our latest experiment. Starting this Sunday, January 10th, we are going to start having an intentional time for community gameplay. Whether it looks like Among Us marathons or JackBox Games or Trivia... honestly that couldn't matter less to me.

My big goal is to get us together playing games and hanging out in community. I hope you'll consider joining us this Sunday for our first ever CheckPlay on our Discord. We'll start up at 10:00 am EST and plan to play for an hour or two. If you're interested in this, but Sunday at 10:00 am will simply never work, send us a DM or email and let us know. Also, know that our Discord rooms are always open to anyone who wants to use them.

Could this flop? Sure. But I couldn't be more excited to take this first risk of the year with all of you beautiful people. Let's do this thing!
