What a couple of weeks it has been. ICYMI, I'm now a dad of a second beautiful baby girl. I'm also exhausted, but that comes with the territory. I appreciate your grace and understanding during the past four weeks of my paternity leave. As I find my way back into the natural swing of things, I'm discovering that there will be a need for some adjustments in the weeks to come. You may or may not notice some of these changes, but it's still reasonably needed.
We will be putting our Wednesday night streams on hiatus for a short while. They likely won't be gone forever, but I can't in good conscience leave my fantastic wife to lay down a toddler and a newborn by herself every Wednesday night. Some adaptation will be needed, and sacrifices will be made by myself, my family, and Checkpoint, all in tandem. This is just the nature of the thing we call life.
Concerning this, we will also be adding a weekly stream on Thursday mornings from 8:30-11:30 am EST. Whether this stream will remain active when we start back up our Wednesday night stream will take some thought. The reality of Checkpoint Church is that everything is one big experiment. I'm thankful for the flexibility of this community as we move forward in this calling to serve the nerds, geeks, and gamers of the world.
I anticipate that you will see further adjustments and evolutionary steps forward in the months to come. As I hit the ground running post-paternity, I'm developing many things at once. It's an excellent time to start getting involved at Checkpoint Church. I'm excited for our influx of new members, new LVL2 folks, and the old guard that served us so well in my absence. God is good, and the fact that we are still standing more robust than ever after a four-week break is a testament to the incredible grace of God upon this community. I'd say that I don't know what's next, but I do, and I can't wait to tell you more about it in the next few months. Get excited!
