Something Completely Different

Did you know that we are a few weeks away from our one year anniversary as Checkpoint Church? Not gonna lie - it's pretty frightening. I can't believe how quickly we have gotten to this point. But what really surprises me is just how much we've changed in this first year. We started off with an Undertale Bible Study on Wednesday nights. We had two podcasts going on at the same time. We didn't even have a Discord. We only started our weekly nerdy devotions back in January. We had a whole month of daily devotionals for Advent back in December. We've really come a long way.

If you've stuck with us since Day One, then you've seen how much we've changed and grown. And we're almost unrecognizable from the first month last August - with the exception being our solid logo and classic purple hue. Other than those things, and our trusty Nerd Pastor, everything has changed. But, if I'm being honest, even I've changed. I've grown up. I've learned so much. I've made so many new friends and gotten more involved with my peers than I've ever been before. I've learned how Twitch works (sorta) and I've even started to comprehend the complexity of Discord. It's exciting, but there's something that excites me even more.

I can't wait to see where we are this time next year. We have a building now and everything is going to take a huge step forward. We're moving at an even more rapid pace than we were last year and there's absolutely no telling what's waiting for us around the corner. We're almost to 100 members in our Discord, we're nearing 600 followers on Twitch, and all around we're becoming a more known presence. It's incredible what God is doing here. I can't even begin to thank all of you for joining in this journey with Checkpoint Church. And for the new folks who will be joining the fun this year - I cannot wait to meet you and welcome you to the community. Cheers to the next right step forward!
