I had the pleasure of being a guest on the Field Preachers podcast this past week. I've been a listener of the podcast for a while and it was bizarre to have the script flipped on me. Paul Nixon and Beth Estock asked some excellent questions and I highly recommend giving it a listen and letting me know your thoughts.
During the interview, Beth hit on a point that almost always comes up with Checkpoint Church. Any time I mention this strange and awesome community, i hear the same phrase: "Wow, Nathan, that would be perfect for ________!" Fill in the blank however you want—son, daughter, brother-in-law, neighbor, cool nerdy granny—it seems that someone comes to mind to connect with a church for nerds, geeks, and gamers. This gets me so excited looking toward the future for us here at Checkpoint.
However, here's the thing: the Internet is huge. I would love to connect with each and every one of your 'fill-in-the-blank' person from above naturally, but the reality is that the culture is so vast that advertising and streaming can only reach so many people.
The truth of the matter is this: I need your help in making these connections. If you have a 'fill-in-the-blank' person, please help make the ends meet. Invite them to a Twitch stream or to join our Discord—they'll be more likely to come and join in if you do too by the way.
The reality of preaching in the virtual field is the same as IRL field preaching—if no one shows up, then no one shows up. We want to reach and connect with your favorite 'fill-in-the-blank' person, but we can only do that through you! We're in this thing together. Let's build some relationships.
